Six
miles North of the Newfield Grange Hotel you will find yourself
on the Border between Scotland and England. Here you will
discover Gretna Green, famous
for its runaway marriages.
A
short drive away, and you can find the splendour of the Lake
District National Park. The SolwayFirth with its abundance
of wildlife is also close at hand.
Other
nearby attractions are Carlisle Castle and the magnificent
14th century Cathedral. The Lanes shopping precinct and the
Tullie House Museum are within the city of Carlisle.
Hadrian's Wall is close by, whilst
the Kielder reservoir and the beauty of the Northumbrian countryside
are within 1 hours drive to the North East. Edinburgh, Moffat
and Lockerbie are within easy reach for a days sightseeing
or a shopping trip.
